Invincible in Chicago

Since finding out that I don't need to have surgery, I've been feeling my oats. Which may explain how I agreed to take Declan out to a 5 star fine-dining restaurant- Rick Bayless' Topolobampo. And then agreed to a 5 course tasting menu. Which we started 30 minutes AFTER bedtime.

And it wasn't half bad. Here he is eating a tortilla. Sometime after 9 pm.

Nothing can stop me now.

Snifty Snakes

Good fortune brought me back to Vancouver at the same time as Peter from New York City. This allowed us to converge harmonically with our dear friend Karin over dinner and a rousing game of Snifty Snakes. Or so this photo would have you believe.

Wish me continued good fortune on my trip to Chicago for yet another operation as we press our luck with a foolhardy attempt to make ANOTHER perfect baby. If I have to go under the knife many more times I'm going to come out looking like Heidi Montag.

Video of the Day

Declan shows there's more than one Whitlock who can bust a move.

I turned on the A/C last night...

ergo I must be a Southerner for real. The past two days have been north of 20 degrees and it feels great to see winter in the rearview mirror. Hope I'm not getting ahead of myself!

No new pics as Declan is home sick today with his highest fever ever - 102. I have a feeling that there are a lot of Baby Signing Times viewings ahead.

Anyway here's some retroblogging of our trip to Seattle last month. We enjoyed getting to take Declan to a city that is so special to us although we kept having to leave him with my parents while we made the rounds: to Harvest Vine and Matt's in the Market and to Norm's Pub. Declan looked good in the PNW though- blended right in!

Two-a-days Part Deux

Second time we went with friends! Everyone was glad to be outside again.

Two-a-days

Spring must have started today - the temperature broke 16 degrees for the first time this year and we celebrated with not one but two visits to the park today! The first visit we went alone and splashed in puddles.

Berry sneaky...

Declan and Kate each get a pile of blueberries.

Declan finishes his pile and looks longingly at Kate, but she doesn't notice.

With Kate momentarily distracted, Declan pirates the blueberry right out of her hand.

To the victor go the spoils.

Two thousand -oh-ten.

A combination of heavy boots and busy hands have kept me from blogging much this past month. So here we are: I have been blog-negligent and you have been clamoring. Let's all resolve to reform our ways, shall we? If you all are good maybe I will do some retro-blogging.
For eg. here is a picture of Declan at Christmas trying on his Olympic mittens.
