First *Professional* Haircut

Declan went for his first professional haircut today. This was before...

Here he is making his first "no I just got my ears lowered" joke. Grandpa must be proud!

Here's the after!
That was not his first time in a salon - that came on a trip with Daddy to Benton's finest spa where Dec got his first mohawk. First of many I'm sure.

Jodi Picoult makes good.

Jodi Picoult very kindly sent me a stack of books - all signed to me with a variety of cute inscriptions. My favourite is "vultures schmultures". My thoughts exactly. Very kind of her to send the books though ! Am looking forward to reading them when I get back to fiction. I am still reading non-fiction with a view to enlightening my husband with possible million dollar nuggets at every possible opportunity. We will see how that goes!

Home of the Brave, Plus one.

AFter much wringing of hands and tapping of feet, I have been approved for permanent resident status in the US of A. What a relief! Shane now has to take INS off his speed dial. I'm here to stay! I expect to have my Green Card in hand within 3 months. Time enough to apply for my taxi licence.

That's us in front of Jasper Johns' Flag painting at MOMA in NY. I was taking a series of family photos to prove to the customs officials that not only were we a legitimate family, but also a very patriotic one. Good thing I had the foresight to put my Maple Leaf Forever tattoo where the sun doesn't shine.

Oh what a difference three zeroes can make!

So we had a bunch of people over to watch my primetime debut on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. I had a good time although Shane and I wondered if all of our guests were choked that we dragged them out for a crappy thousand dollar payout. Heh.

In Other News...

The Pulaski County Volunteer Fire Department has really lowered its standards.

So lately I've been feeling like I need a new camera...

My point and shoot with the 3 second delay on taking a picture has proven no match for a toddler-constantly-in-motion. I have been seeing a lot of this lately...

And even more of this ...

-sometimes there's just bits of body parts about to move out of the frame

And sometimes it's just like there was never anyone there at all.

So I Bought a New Camera...

I went ahead and bought a Nikon D90, that can take 11 pictures a second, and was able to see what was going on behind those blurs....

Pretty cute stuff!

Dec's In the City

Feeling Bullish...

"That'll do, Dec. That'll do."
